Standard Employee Software

Summary

Current software for employees using district-supplied hardware.

Body

The majority of our software agreements are only valid for installation on district-supplied hardware; typically they are not available to be installed on personal devices unless specifically noted.

Base Image

As part of our imaging process, the following software is installed by default on all employee computers:

  • Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, OneNote, Teams)
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Adobe Acrobat 
  • Microsoft Edge browser
  • Google Chrome browser
  • Mozilla Firefox browser
  • Cisco WebEx
  • Zoom
  • 7-Zip (file compression/decompression)
  • VLC media player
  • Palo Alto Global Protect VPN Client (requires additional authorization)

Available Software - no cost

The following programs are available at no cost but are not loaded by default. To receive one of these programs, please contact the helpdesk for assistance.

  • Camtasia
  • Snag-It

Available Software - license purchase required

The following programs are available, but require a paid license. Please have your dean/supervisor contact the helpdesk to request a quote; once a license has been purchased, please contact the helpdesk for software install.

  • Microsoft Project Professional
  • Microsoft Visio Professional

Other Software Notes

  • You are free to install available open source software that you need; IT is not available to support installation/configuration of non-standard software.
  • If you need software that requires purchase or a paid license/subscription, please reach out to your dean/supervisor. They will need to identify funding and submit a Technology Request Form to the helpdesk authorizing the purchase. Once approved, the software can be purchased, and once confirmed, IT can assist with installation. IT cannot assist with use of the software.
  • IT are not subject matter experts on the usage of all software; we do not have the resources or knowledge to train all standard software or non-standard software. Please investigate online resources, guides, training videos, etc, or incorporate paid training into your software purchase.
