Benefit/Purpose
Briefly describe what you hope to achieve by executing the project, including anticipated benefits.
The primary goal of this project is to develop and convert an initial set of existing reports from the on-premises Argos/ODS/Oracle reporting environment to the Argos/Insights/Postgres environment, ensuring compatibility with Banner SaaS and seamless integration of Argos and Banner SaaS. This will involve utilizing a block of hours provided by Evisions to facilitate report development and conversion.
Deliverables Requested
List or summarize all specific deliverables resulting from this project. What will the project produce or deliver? These should include items that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time bound.
"Establish forward momentum in converting SCC’s existing reports from the Oracle-based Argos platform to the Postgres-based Argos environment, supporting long-term alignment with Banner SaaS.

(1) Delivery of a working proof of concept that confirms Argos functions effectively with Banner SaaS and Postgres. If successful, this will eliminate the need for several custom integrations, simplifying the reporting architecture and reducing future maintenance overhead.

(2) Complete the development and conversion of the initial batch of reports by June 30, 2025, ensuring full use of FY 2024–25 allocated funding and positioning SCC for continued migration efforts in future phases."

Strategic Purpose & Objectives

Success Criteria
(1) The initial set of reports is successfully converted from the Oracle-based Argos platform to the Postgres-based Argos environment, ensuring full compatibility with Banner SaaS.

A working proof of concept is completed that demonstrates Argos functions seamlessly with Banner SaaS and Postgres.

All converted reports are fully functional, tested, and validated, meeting the business requirements and expected performance standards.

The Evisions report rewrite work scheduled for May and June depends on having more data in certain tables, specifically the CalB Student-related data tables, which currently lack data. As the reports require a refresh of Banner SaaS data, a full Banner SaaS data refresh must be completed by May 19, 2025.

If proven compatible, the elimination of multiple custom integrations is confirmed.

All work required for the first batch of report conversions is completed by June 30, 2025, in alignment with FY 2024–25 funding timelines.

Goals

  1. Project improves overall data quality for institutional reporting needs.
